Privacy Policy

NoteFuse ("NoteFuse", "we", "us") is a study app that helps students prepare for exams — extracting topics from a syllabus, generating notes, creating practice questions, and answering study questions with AI. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using NoteFuse, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information — your name, email address, an optional date of birth, and a chosen avatar colour.

Content you provide — syllabus documents, previous-year question papers and source files you upload; subjects, topics and notes you create or edit; questions and answers from practice tests; and messages you send to the in-app AI tutor.

Usage information — study time, streaks, credits, and counts of features used (for example, daily limits on the free plan).

Device information — a push-notification token, only if you allow notifications.

Purchase information — your subscription status. Payments are handled by Google Play; we never receive or store your card details.

2. How we use your information

• To provide the app — store and display your subjects, notes and progress.
• To run the AI features — extract syllabus topics, generate notes and practice questions, grade answers, and power the AI tutor chat.
• To sign you in and keep your account secure.
• To track streaks, credits and the optional leaderboard.
• To maintain, troubleshoot and improve the app.

3. AI processing

To generate notes and practice questions, the content you upload and the text you provide is sent to third-party AI providers — Google (Gemini API) and Anthropic (Claude API) — for processing. This content is used to produce your results and is handled under those providers' terms.

4. Service providers

We share data only with the providers that make NoteFuse work:

• Supabase — authentication, database and file storage.
• Google (Gemini) and Anthropic (Claude) — AI processing of your content.
• Google Sign-In — only if you choose to sign in with Google.
• Google Play Billing & RevenueCat — to process and verify subscription purchases.
• Expo — app delivery and push notifications.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

5. Storage and security

Your data is stored on Supabase's cloud infrastructure. We apply reasonable safeguards, including database row-level security so that each account can access only its own data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data and content, except where we must keep limited records to meet legal or accounting obligations.

7. Your rights and choices

• Access & correction — you can view and update your name and profile in the app.
• Account & data deletion — to delete your account and all associated data, email us at support@notefuse.in and we will action the request within 30 days.
• Sign out — you can sign out from the app's Settings at any time.
• Notifications — you can turn off push notifications from your device settings.

8. Leaderboard

If you opt in to the leaderboard, a display name (or an auto-generated name such as "student-xxxxxx") and your study activity may be visible to other NoteFuse users. You can opt out at any time, and you are never required to use your real name.

9. Students and children

NoteFuse is an educational app intended for students. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a minor under the age of majority in your country, please use NoteFuse only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may also be communicated within the app.
